Our Broodmare Band
At Bar PS Bar, our broodmares are the foundation of our program. We select mares that we truly believe will produce quality foals every year. These mares have good conformation, willing mindsets, easy-going demeanors, tons of talent, and the pedigrees to back it up. We want to ensure the next generation excels in every arena and all across your ranch.
Current Mares
We have carefully selected each mare for her conformation, pedigree, athletic ability, and gentle disposition to ensure their foals are prepared for success in the performance world and on the ranch. Learn more about each mare below.
Technicole
"Freya"
Color: Sorrel (Some Rubicano)
Height: 15.2 HH
Description: Technicole is an own daughter of Technicolours (progeny earnings $800,000) and has money earners all over her papers. "Freya" was started as a barrel horse. She placed in one round and the average at the IMPRA finals in 2021. She also has some high school rodeo stats from 2022- including placing in the top 10 at SSIR. Has won some good money jackpoting, mostly 1D stats. After her barrel racing career, she went to work on the ranch. She’s roped cattle and horses, assisted in halter breaking, gathered rough country, branded calves, doctored cattle, lightly started heading out of the box, and has truly earned her way. This mare has a great attitude and easy/willing demeanor. Very friendly and gentle.
Colonelssmokinginger
"Ginger"
Color: Palomino
Height: 15. 1 HH
Description: Colonelssmokinginger, granddaughter of Colonel Freckles and out of a Bueno Chex and Genuine Smoke bred mare. "Ginger" had fairly extensive cow/cutting horse training and was shown in local cutting and reined cowhorse shows. This mare has a kind and easy demeanor to her. She has a big wither and quick pace. Her previous two foals have gone on to roping and ranching families and in 2026 she produced a stud-worthy prospect. She has been an outstanding producer for us. Her foals have been smart and athletic with her laid back personality.
June B Jones
Color: Gray
Height: 15.0 HH
Description: More information coming soon.
Platinums Summer
"Platinum"
Color: Palomino
Height: 14.0 HH
Description: Platinums Summer is a young mare that was raised and started in our program. She was very easy to start, naturally wanting to do things correctly and gentle. The "born broke" type. She is very athletic and goey with a huge natural stop. Watches a cow well. She had an injury so we went ahead and started breeding her. We are hopeful she heals with time and we are able to advance her training more. Regardless, she's the only filly we have kept from her deceased dam and we believe she is going to make a strong impact in our broodmare program. She is a smaller mare but built correctly. Very friendly and sweet, usually the first to greet you in the pasture.
